Draft for review
Proposed hire terms.
These terms show the working approach Alba intends to use. A final hire agreement will be issued and must be accepted in writing before any booking is confirmed.
Bookings
An enquiry does not reserve equipment. A booking is confirmed when Alba accepts the proposed hire, receives the agreed reservation payment and issues written confirmation with the equipment, dates, charges and collection or delivery arrangements.
Cancellation and date changes
At least 48 hours’ notice: no hire cancellation charge. Between 24 and 48 hours: reasonable unrecovered loss, capped at 50% of the first day’s hire. Less than 24 hours or failure to collect: reasonable unrecovered loss, capped at one day’s hire. Charges are not automatic; Alba will account for costs saved and any replacement booking. Separately agreed third-party costs that cannot reasonably be recovered may apply where identified before booking.
One date change requested at least 48 hours before collection can be made without an administration fee, subject to availability. If conditions make work unsafe, contact Alba before collection to discuss rescheduling.
Payment, bond and return
Hire charges and the refundable bond are due as shown in the written confirmation. Alba aims to inspect returned equipment within two business days and refund the undisputed bond balance within five business days. Any potential deduction will be explained and supported by an itemised assessment.
Extensions and late returns
Extensions need written confirmation and depend on availability. A 30-minute grace period applies. After that, additional hire is proposed at one-eighth of the agreed daily rate per commenced hour, capped at one daily rate for each additional 24-hour period.
Condition, cleaning and damage
Condition and accessories are recorded at handover and return. Fair wear and tear is excluded. Normal cleaning is included; excess cleaning caused by contamination may be charged at $75 per hour in 15-minute increments, plus reasonable materials, supported by photographs and an itemised explanation.
Damage, theft or missing-item claims will be assessed against the final hire agreement, the condition records, responsibility for the loss and applicable insurance. Any reasonable repair or replacement charge will take the item’s age and condition into account.
Faults and cancellations by Alba
If a fault occurs, stop using the equipment, make the situation safe and contact Alba. If an equipment fault not caused by the hirer prevents use, Alba will discuss repair, replacement or an appropriate refund or credit. If Alba cannot provide the agreed equipment, the customer may accept an alternative or receive a refund for the unprovided hire.
